BALTIMORE – ������Ƶ will commemorate Women’s History Month by celebrating the remarkable achievements and contributions of women throughout history. The event will take place on Friday, March 28, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Talon Center, 2nd Floor Atrium. 

In alignment with the National Women’s History Alliance’s 2025 theme, “Moving Forward Together: Women Educating & Inspiring Generations,” the forum will feature a series of panels, keynote addresses, and interactive workshops, led by distinguished women leaders from a variety of fields. Keynote speakers include Secretary Tisha Edwards and Baltimore City Councilwoman Phylicia Porter, who will share their insights on leadership, innovation, and societal impact. 

“As professors, we stand at the crossroads of the wisdom of the past and the possibilities of the future. Women’s contributions to education remind us that teaching is never neutral; it’s a powerful act that shapes generations,” said Dr. Yolanda Savoy, Chair of the Women’s History Committee and Interim Chair of the Department of Health Sciences. “By moving forward together, we create classrooms where history is not just studied but made anew.” 

Rishama Burrowes, a pre-nursing major serving on the planning committee, shares: "By organizing discussions on women's health, professional development, and overcoming imposter syndrome, I'm contributing to a legacy that empowers my peers. As Michelle Obama said, 'There is no limit to what we as women can accomplish.' This experience has strengthened my commitment to educating and inspiring women across generations." Mellany Morales, a criminal justice major, adds: "When women lead, they create spaces where innovation, compassion, and progress thrive. Fanny Jackson Coppin's courage in breaking barriers reminds us that our progress is measured not just by where we are, but by how far we have come and will go." 

In addition to the panels and workshops, the forum will provide an excellent opportunity to network with like-minded individuals and build meaningful professional relationships. ������Ƶ is committed to fostering a supportive and empowering environment where women can thrive and succeed.
