American Association of University Professors
American Association of University Professors
was organized in 1915 by Arthur Lovejoy, a philosopher at Johns Hopkins University, and John Dewey. Since then, the AAUP has been protecting the rights of faculty and other higher education professionals, as well as working to improve the quality of education.
It is the most recognized organization serving the needs of thousands of full and part-time teachers, tenured and non-tenured faculty, librarians, and other academic professionals.
